My friend and I wanted KBBQ for dinner and Baekjeong claims to be NYC's best KKBQ restaurant, so we went to find out if it was true. We came for a very early dinner. It was right around 5 P.M. Luckily, there was no wait, and we were seated right away. The staff was not super personable, but they got the job done quickly. We ordered the small beef+pork combo. It was not AYCE, but it was more than enough food for two people, and we were so stuffed at the end of our meal. The banchan were ample. The meats were so tasty, and I liked the marinaded beef short ribs the best of the meats that we tried because it was so tender and flavorful. The cheese corn was so tasty too - especially the crispier that the cheese got on the grill. It was not a cheap meal, but it was worth the price because of the high quality of the meats. However, the restaurant is kind of cramped and does not have much space to move around due to all the tables and chairs crammed in. It is not the fanciest place, but it is good KBBQ.

Pretty good option for Korean BBQ in the heart of midtown. I came here with a family of 6 people on Thursday at 5pm during the final week of December 2023. After a 10-min. wait staring at some of the celebrity photos, we were finally seated on the main level. The ambience is not fancy - just an informal BBQ place with a focus on the food. However, the service was efficient and professional. They helped to grill the prime rib and galbi for you. The banchan dishes (Kimchi, potatoes, etc.) were pretty good but not spectacular. We enjoyed the galbi a lot, but one of the other meats was quite fatty. Overall, I think it's a solid choice for Korean BBQ in midtown, but there are probably better places if you're picky about your banchan dishes or specific cuts of meat.

In Korean town and in the mood for bbq meat, search no more caused your at the right place. The staff here is friendly and attentive. Our waiter took his time explaining to us how the menu works and all since it was our first time visiting. The place is packed on a Friday night but service was quick and the restaurant is noisy with chatters and kpop music and Latin music by the chefs and sous chefs (God I love NYC lol) All patrons must order bbq grill combo as base meal and all other dishes, like bibimbap, are in addition if you want to order. The pork and beef is deliciously tender and who doesn't like grilled corned with melted cheese. The little side dishes, banchan, are good too. Overall, very happy with our dinner and will definitely come back when in the area.

My friends and I made a reservation for six at baekjeong approximately a week in advance. Be aware that the spots fills up quite quickly during the weekend, though, don't be afraid to keep checking in case a reservation opens up. We did the Korean barbecue special. It was about $100 per person, which also came with side dishes, and some other dishes as well. We additionally ordered soju, beer, and nangmyeon. The banchan were delicious and we enjoyed everything we ordered! As far as meats go, the seasoned beef and pork belly were fan favorites. However, at the price point, we were overall a little disappointed in the quantity of it. It felt like we were mainly paying for all the side dishes and extras, when we would rather have more meat. This place is definitely pretty poppin, and will definitely get noisy. There were multiple times where the lights in the restaurant were dimmed for someone's birthday, and the music was just overall quite loud. That's honestly a vibe, but just something to keep in mind if it's not what you're looking for.
